October 2020 Newsletter

Hello Sovranti Family,

We are very excited for Wizard Kittens to join the Sovranti Game Shelf! Wizard Kittens is a semi-cooperative set collection card game of kittens and spells! Play as kittens who have accidentally released a few curses from the library’s restricted section. The library is supposed to be a place of quiet and contemplation, with no noise, no playing, no yarn—and DEFINITELY no magic!

Now you and your friends must defeat the curses fast before you’re caught by the librarian, Professor Whispurr! Check out our Developer Blog for more development updates!

With Sovranti Early Access fast approaching, we thought we’d take a minute to explain what we envision for access and account levels. There are three tiers: Silver (free), Gold, and Platinum. Silver gives members access to that week’s Silver level games which are always in rotation. Gold allows players to play any game with other Gold members. Platinum members unlock the entire game library for any table they join.

Here’s November’s Silver games calendar. Invite your family and friends to start playing today!

Come and play games! We have been to 3 virtual conventions this year: Gen Con Online, PAX Online and most recently, AwSHUX. We will also be attending

  • Youmacon (10/30-11/1)

  • DigiKumo (11/6-11/8)

  • BGG@Home (11/18-11/22)

Stay up to date on our whereabouts through our social media and news updates.

Everyone is also welcome to join us for Game Night on Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00pm CST. If you have a group and want us to help you get started, message @Sovranti-Dani in Discord. I will make sure a GM is there to help you get going.

The Developer Blog - Read about the world of our developers as they create our social first, rules enforced, digital board gaming platform. Every other week we talk about specific development challenges and the milestones of titles in the development process.

  • Volume 1.0 - Why UI?: This blog kicked off our new Developer Blog Series about the User Interface (UI). When translating board games to an online platform, there are three layers of the User Interface. The device (PC, phone, tablet), the platform (Sovranti) and the game itself. It’s our job to get these three things to fit together as seamlessly as possible so that you can connect with the fun and your friends.

  • Volume 1.1 - Information Overload: Games are loaded with information. Scores, rules, positions and statuses are data players need to decide their next move. Though all that data is relevant, organizing the information so that it’s accessible and meaningful is the key to a good User Interface (UI).
